Air Duct Cleaning Procedure

Air Duct Cleaning Procedure

Step 1: The Inspection

Air Duct Cleaning ProcedureOur certified Inspector opens up your air handler and inspects the internal components (liner, blower assemble, evaporator coil, drain pan and wiring) for suspect microbial growth. All contamination found in the ductwork starts it’s growth in the air handler. Our certified Inspector will explain how mold can form in your air handler and ductwork. The Inspector will then access the interior of the ductwork (as accessible) and inspect the interior for contamination and suspect microbial growth.

The Inspector will provide you a written explanation of the findings and a step by step explanation of the Air Duct Cleaning Procedure along with the complete price for the air duct cleaning. The inspection takes approximately 30 to 60 minutes and is FREE of charge!

Step 2: Scheduling the Air Duct Cleaning Procedure

Schedule the air duct cleaning services with our Envirovac department and arrange payment for the services.

Step 3: Performing the Air Duct Cleaning Procedure

When doing an air duct cleaning, our Envirovac team will clean and sanitize the air handler unit as well as the duct work. We clean & sanitize, with a microbiocide, the coil, drain pain, drain line, blower wheel and housing of the air handler. We also take down each one of your vents and clean and sanitize them as well. Our procedure for cleaning the ductwork is as follows: We open up your air handler and disassemble the blower wheel (the wheel that blows all of the air into your duct work). We then attach a 2500 Cubic Feet per Minute (CFM) High Efficient Particulate Air (HEPA) Filtration Unit in place of the blower wheel. This unit maintains a vacuum on your entire ductwork system. While the machine is on we access your ductwork by placing hoses down each branch line. These hoses blow compressed air at 200 pounds per square inch (PSI). This loosens up the dirt and debris and it is then able to be sucked back into the HEPA unit. That is how we perform our air duct cleaning.
